We had a great time last night! The sign wave started at 6:00 pm as a one man show by Paul. He wore his Obama hat and shirt, carried around a lawn sign and an American Flag, and whistled for one full hour! He was shortly joined by the rest of our group (along with some newcomers!) and we got a lot of cheers and honks. With that of course we did have "thumbs down", and middle fingers, but we just kept cheering on. All in all you can tell there is A LOT more support in this area than most people think!! We'll have some pictures of the wave shortly- Bob got some for us and they look great :)
After that, we all went down to Woody's for some food, drinks, and socializing. I briefly went over things we have coming up such as DEADLINE FOR VOTER REGISTRATION IN MD ON TUESDAY OCTOBER 14TH, and our FALLFEST RALLY MONDAY OCTOBER 27TH 5:00 pm. We're going to have a table at Redners Sunday 9-2 and Monday 3-7 to register voters (we have to be bi-partisan), but if each of you took one hour of your time before the deadline (9:00 pm on Tuesday) you could get some more people registered in gas stations or parking lots, just by asking someone if they'd like you to register them. More often than not, the people we're registering are voting in our favor, so it really is to our benefit to get some more registered!
Voter Registration Tip: if someone has a felony, but has already served time (and isn't on probation) they CAN register to vote. A lot of people don't know this so they aren't registering. Be sure to spread the word!!
For our FALL FEST RALLY at Kilby Farm in Rising Sun, we're going to have TWO bands, possibly some Broadway Performers, a hayride, cornmaze, bonfire, and ICE CREAM!! I'll have flyers ready soon!!
